We begin in the name of Allah, The General Merciful, The Especially Merciful.
We praise Allah and we send Salaat and Peace to the one whom there is no prophet after.
Realize that Quran memorization began in the lifetime of the Messenger, where he himself memorize it. Children actually start, by memorizing the Quran along with Islamic sciences appropriate to them as we call it Thaqaafah. It has been like that for centuries until recently it was revived again.
If you think you spent long time in the Tahfeez or the Quran memorization school, to the point that you could not pursue your dream job as you would have like to, think of the major players of our Islamic history. We are talking about the veterans of the battle of Badr, They became the best of us because of that one battle. We are talking about the people of the tree where the companions promise to fight to death against the Quraish, if they killed their ambassador Othman RA, they end up not having to fight and Allah save them from hell. Think of Aboubakar, Hamza, Bilal, Khadeejah, Ammaar, and many more who did one powerful deed in their lifetime where they became men of Jannah.
The reality is they might made some mistakes but Allah will use that one powerful deed to forgive them so they are men of Jannah. Sure, War is not easy, punishment is not easy, and Quran memorization is not easy as well. Especially when that keep you from doing many things. Allah promises a reward for every single detail of difficulty.
I am definitely proud to be a haafiz. I'm reminded of that blessings whenever I recite it to myself. I don't think most of the Quran is difficult to understand. You should be happy with your hifz, even if you didn't before, look at it as a responsibility to be a better person, since Allah chose you to be a haafiz, doing so is a sign that your deed is accepted by Allah.
I swear the blessings or the barakahs of the Quran is too long to list. Realize the Quran will benefit you both in this Dunya and Akhirah. Refer to the prophetic sayings for many excitement benefits.
Was Salaam.
